Autumn lawn care: what you need to do

Autumn is the best time to prepare your lawn for winter so that it comes back thick and green in spring.

• Last mowing – leave the grass 5–6 cm tall.
• Aeration – spike the lawn so roots get air.
• Autumn fertiliser – rich in potassium, low in nitrogen.
• Leaf removal – do not let leaves rot on the grass.

After the season, remember to clean and check your lawn mower.
